NFL Betting – Road Favorites Win

September 18, 2008

After reading this week’s analysis of the NFL week 2 season at Sports Betting Football (NFL betting stats), it was easy to see where the money was to be won this past week.

NFL road favorites were 4-2 on the week.

This is very interesting. In week 1 of the NFL season, road favorites were 4-2 as well. That’s two weeks in a row with consistent winners. Will week 3 be more of the same?

For week 3, there is only one road favorite. The Dallas Cowboys are 3-point favorites at the Green Bay Packers.

Refs Kill Chargers – Stand Behind Blown Call

September 17, 2008

I was watching the San Diego / Denver game on Sunday with much anticipation since the Colts covered (ties win) and the Chargers looked like they would cover too.

And then it happened.

Ref Ed Hochuli blew an obvious call that would have sealed the deal. Instead, the Denver Broncos keep the ball, score a TD, go for 2 instead, and win the game. And all of this happened in the last minute.

Here’s a link to an ESPN article about this story: ESPN.com.

What a bunch of you know what. I feel sorry for SD fans too.

What do you think about this?

Should Denver have been good sports and given the ball to SD?

Should the “rules” not apply since the ref admitted at the game that he made the mistake?

If the Chargers miss the playoffs or home field by 1 game, we’ll be revisiting this game.

NFL Betting Week 2 Important Stat

September 12, 2008

When picking your NFL teams to bet on this week, here’s something to keep in mind.

I’m going to share with you a stat that I saw at SportsBettingFootball.com (NFL betting tips article).

Teams starting 0-2 miss the playoffs almost always. Only 1 team per season on average has bucked this trend.

Here’s the important thing though. Every NFL team knows this stat! Teams that are 0-1, especially good ones, will be playing much harder.

Here are two great teams with 0-1 records that could win this week and have decent numbers.

Colts – 3 (at Minn)

Chargers -2.5 (at DEN)

Even though the Seahawks could beat the 49ers at home, laying 9 points on a beat up team that lost by 24 to the Bills is a bit much.

NFL Week 1 Commentary

NFL Week 1 – Crazy

What was your favorite game for the first week of the 2008-09 NFL season?

I have a couple games that I liked. And of course, I picked my NFL picks right this week.

By the way, if you haven’t done so, check out this NFL betting video.

First, I loved the Chargers / Panthers games. That finish was amazing. Everyone and their brother is picking the Chargers this year. Will they bounce back?

Next, the Patriots game was interesting. They barely escaped the Chiefs (who most feel are one of the worst AFC teams). With Tom Brady out, is their season over?

The NFL betting lines this week present new challenges. Some teams last week looked simply “off” and others looked bad. What winners just got lucky?

How about the Philadelphia Eagles? Their 38-3 win over the Rams looks nice, but how bad are the Rams? Next, the Eagles get the Cowboys.

Here’s a page showing this week’s lines: NFL Betting Lines.

I’m looking at a few NFL games to bet now. We’ll see how this week goes.

NFL Parlay Betting – Week 1

August 30, 2008

Okay, we’re slowly heading toward the start of the regular NFL season and I’m excited as all heck.

After reviewing some information over at Sports Betting Football (link:NFL Betting Lines – Thoughts Week 1), I’ve come up with a 3-team NFL parlay that looks great (at least on paper).

I’ll be visiting my favorite sportsbook to book the bet shortly.

BTW, if you haven’t done so already, check out this free video from Wise Bettor of SBF on NFL betting. It’s a must watch video. Link: NFL Betting Video

NFL Parlay

Okay, here’s my 3-team NFL parlay for week 1.

Bet 1: New Orleans Saints

Bet 2: Seattle Seahawks

Bet 3: Dallas Cowboys

Are you making any NFL parlay bets during the first week? If so, what are you betting?
